Trump and EVERY Truth Social User BLINDSIDED by Unexpected Big Tech Move

After months of Google Play Store users not being able to download and use the Truth Social App, the Trump Media & Technology Group is now hitting back.

According to The Hill, A Google spokesperson said Tuesday that concerns about content moderation are holding up the approval of President Trump’s Truth Social app. This comes after Devin Nunes, the CEO of Truth Social, said last week that the Android version of the app was ready and waiting for approval from Google.

According to The Hill, a Google spokesperson said the platform does not have the “effective” moderation needed to comply with the Google Play app store’s terms of service.

In particular, the outlet notes that Google is concerned about violations of the app’s policies prohibiting content with physical threats and incitements to violence.

On Tuesday, Trump Media & Technology Group hit back against Google’s claims in a statement.

The statement reads in part, “TMTG has continuously worked in good faith with Google to ensure that the Truth Social Android App complies with Google’s policies without compromising our promise to be a haven for free speech. As our users know, Truth Social is building a vibrant, family-friendly environment that works expeditiously to remove content that violates its Terms of Service – which independent observers have noted are among the most robust in the industry.”

The statement goes on to say, “Moreover, some of our competitors’ apps are allowed in the Google Play Store despite rampantly violating Google’s prohibition on sexual content and other policies, whereas Truth Social has zero tolerance for sexually explicit content.”
