Joe Biden is once again dividing the country with hateful rhetoric. Even members of his own party know that this is bad branding and are pushing back.
It’s probably not a good idea to alienate swing voters, but that’s exactly what Biden just did.
According to the New York Post, The CNN political analyst John Avlon slammed President Biden on Tuesday for accusing the GOP of supporting “semi-fascism” – a rebuke delivered as CNN bosses purportedly try to push the network’s personalities to cover news non-partisan.
Avlon said Biden’s remarks at a Democratic donor rally last week were “not helpful” to Democrats trying to reach swing voters.
Senator Maggie Hassan, up for reelection in the Granite State, criticized Biden’s framing of politics.

Last Thursday, Biden urged supporters to vote “to literally save democracy once again” during a Democratic fundraiser rally in Maryland.
Biden said later that he respects “conservative Republicans” but not “these MAGA Republicans.”
As a response to Biden’s comments, Hassan argued that the president had “painted with a way too broad a brush” when referring to the phrase. Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was also heard using the phrase to disparage conservatives.
I am loving this “MAGA Republicans are a threat” gaslighting that @PressSec is enabling. By the way, for those who haven’t caught on yet, EVERYBODY who isn’t on their team is considered a dangerous MAGA Republican by default. That’s just their way. pic.twitter.com/fpDVgDaTUK

Meanwhile, new CNN President Chris Licht and WarnerBros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav are in the midst of an overhaul at the network, whose personalities frequently took an antagonist stance toward Republicans during the Trump administration.
A major WarnerBros Discovery shareholder, John Malone, recently said CNN should be “more centrist,” but denied any involvement in removing liberal anchor Brian Stelter.
In a report last week, The Daily Beast reported that Licht was considering “blowing up” the “New Day” morning show because of low ratings. In May, Licht indicated that CNN wanted to “reimagine” its morning programming, but didn’t provide further details.
If CNN is trying to be more centrist to gain more viewers you know they must be desperate. Joe Biden needs to take a page out of their playbook and try to appeal to more people, not continuing down this road dividing the country and using hateful rhetoric.
