Teachers unions and democrats want to destroy the right you have as a parent to have input in your children’s learning. There are some fighting back.
Across the nation a battle rages in almost every square mile of the country. The battle of parents rights when it comes to their children. As shown in the Virginia election, the power of parents cannot be underestimated.
Fox news reports. On “Sunday Night in America,” Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears outlined what she considered to be the most crucial issue of the 2022 election season: education.
As President Biden seeks to cancel student loans, host Trey Gowdy discussed the ongoing efforts of many Republican figures, such as Sears, to expand school choice. Sears argued that Black families have been forced to fight teachers’ unions to provide their children with school choice.
Lt. Gov Winsome Sears’s comments come as school districts, and teacher unions around the country are fighting school choice.
Center Square writes. According to the Goldwater Institute, Arizona school districts will violate state law by sending representatives to a meeting where they will urge attendees to overturn the state’s new universal school choice law.
In a letter to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, the free-market legal nonprofit asked the office to investigate and stop the behavior.
The Goldwater Institute points out that Arizona law prohibits school districts from using district funds or resources to influence election outcomes. Initiatives and ballot questions fall under this category.
School district employees will attend the Arizona School Boards Association’s (ASBA’s) “Law Conference” on September 7-9.
Earlier in the year, the Institute helped push for the state’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program. Arizona families who participate in the program receive more than $6,500 per year per child for private school, homeschooling, micro-schools, tutoring, and other forms of education outside of traditional public schools.
School choice should be a national push. A lot of politicians are putting out the Virginia formula when it comes to their local elections, and it is a vast change from the past stances of politicians, who have cared little for parents’ input when it comes to their children’s education.
