Here’s What You Need To Know About Buttigieg’s Plan To Ban Gas Cars

Inflation is soaring, the southern border is wide open, but Biden officials are worried about… you guessed it – CLIMATE CHANGE. Yes, the Biden Admin is putting their time and effort into fighting global warming, because that is the best use of their time I guess. One Biden official even came out and said he wants to ban all gas powered cars.

Biden officials just unveiled a new plan that is absolutely ridiculous.

According to The Western Journal. A new California ban on new gas-powered cars is being considered by the Biden administration, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg indicated that he is “interested” in the proposal.

The California Air Resources Board issued new rules last month that require 35% of new vehicles to produce zero emissions by 2026, and 100% by 2035. According to Buttigieg, effective climate change mitigation requires a rapid transition to electric cars.

New benchmarks were announced days before California asked residents to lower energy usage during peak hours to avoid a power grid failure. Citizens were also asked not to charge electric vehicles. Leaders in policy and industry, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, have warned against rushing to adopt renewable energy solutions.

Nevertheless, Buttigieg argued that a robust electric vehicle policy requires speed. “We’ve got to make sure that this happens quickly enough to help us beat climate change,” he said. “We’ve got to make sure it happens affordably enough. That’s not just wealthy people, but low-income people who most need those gas savings if they can afford the EVs in the first place.”

Meanwhile, the Biden administration has set the goal of procuring only zero-emission light-duty vehicles by 2027 and all federal government vehicles by 2035, according to the White House’s fact sheet. Meanwhile, the administration has set the “ambitious target” of ensuring that electric vehicles constitute 50% of car sales in the United States by 2030.

A $7,500 tax credit for new electric vehicles is included in the Inflation Reduction Act, which contains $369 billion for climate initiatives. Among Americans experiencing high gas prices, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm recently called for a transition away from gas cars.

Energy is energy. Just because people are switching from gas powered cars to electric cars doesn’t mean the prices will get any cheaper. Those cars need to be charged somehow and we’ve already seen what’s happening in California with Governor Newsom telling people not to charge their vehicles. Pete Buttigieg is worried about climate change while people can’t even use their cars, what a joke.
