LGBTQ Community Won’t BELIEVE How Democrats Just Threw Them in the Dirt

Democrats sure do like to flip flop on things. Just days after announcing that there will be a vote on the Senate floor to codify same sex into law, they scrap the enitre plan. This report lays out exactly why.

Codifying same sex marriage will not be discussed on the Senate floor anytime soon.

According to the Washington Examiner, Democrat senators have delayed a vote on a bill codifying same-sex marriage protections until after the midterm elections, hoping the timing will help them overcome a GOP filibuster.

This comes after, as we previously reported, that Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer announced last Wednesday that a vote on marriage equality would take place on the Senate floor “in the coming weeks.”

The Democratic leadership, led by Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), has heavily lobbied both parties to support the legislation, but they have not succeeded in securing firm commitments from the 10 Republicans within the conference.

The House previously passed similar legislation in a 267-157 vote with the support of 47 Republicans in July.

Democrat lawmakers argue that Congress should act swiftly to codify same-sex marriage in light of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

This legislation repeals the Defense of Marriage Act and replaces provisions that define marriage as between a man and a woman under federal law. The law also provides additional legal protection for couples who are of the same sex or who are interracial.

The Democrats are going to be in for a rude awakening come November when they actually lose seats instead of gain them. Vote Republican in November so a huge red wave will sweep the House and Senate!

Let’s continue this conversation, in the comments below.
