It’s been a busy few weeks for conservative bloggers and researchers alike, as we’ve been seeing more and more Obama-era cronies intent on spreading disinformation and propaganda. The latest discovery is perhaps the most damning yet: a top flunky from the Obama administration has been caught attempting to pay social media influencers to spread disinformation about President Trump on TikTok. This is absolutely unacceptable, and we must expose these criminals for what they are!
The National Pulse reports, a project led by top Obama aide Richard Stengel and founded by Tara McGowan, a Democratic strategist linked to George Soros, appears to have offered money to social media influencers to make false claims about President Donald Trump and January 6th on the Chinese Communist-owned platform TikTok. Among the falsehoods used in the attempted disinformation campaign was the claim that Donald Trump paid millions for the 2021 riots at the US Capitol.
Legal influencer Preston Moore posted a video to the CCP-linked TikTok about the foundation’s efforts to spread disinformation about the events that took place on January 6th, as well as the aftermath.
Rick Stengel, a former Time magazine editor, Obama White House staffer, and present MSNBC contributor, is behind the nefarious effort.
He has previously admitted “I’m not against propaganda,” and appears to be curating negative content against Trump and January 6th in the same way.
Ironically, Stengel explained his work combating “disinformation” while at the state department in a conversation hosted by the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab on Oct 16, 2019.
His talk emphasized the need to support people – to spread disinformation – with more credibility than themselves.
Later in the conversation, he reiterated that point, declaring that the State Department should support content creators to combat disinformation.
