After illegal immigrants arrived in cities like Chicago and Martha’s Vineyard, Democrats were quick to come up with excuses as to why the migrants had to be sent elsewhere. However, one Democrat is rising above his party and agreeing with the GOP on the illegal immigration issue.

A Democrat Mayor has come out in support of bussing illegal migrants to “sanctuary cities” across the U.S.

According to The Daily Wire, in an effort to help migrants reach their ultimate destination, El Paso’s Democrat mayor defended the city’s policy of busing migrants 2,200 miles northeast to New York City.

In an interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Mayor Oscar Leeser said migrants are being treated humanely, even though Republican leaders, including Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX), have been criticized by Democrats for sending them to blue states and liberal cities. According to Leeser, 2,000 illegal immigrants enter his city every day

The Daily Wire notes that in order to draw attention to the border problem, Abbott and fellow Republican governors Ron DeSantis of Florida, and Doug Ducey of Arizona, have sent illegal immigrants and asylum seekers to blue cities and states. After former President Donald Trump’s border security policies were repealed by President Joe Biden, 2 million migrants have flooded into the country.

As we reported last week, The Democrat elites and VP Harris got an unpleasant surprise at their doorsteps.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent planes full of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, a ritzy island located in Dukes County, Massachusetts. In addition, two busloads of migrants were dropped off by a metro bus stop near Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence in the Naval Observatory.

It takes courage, especially in this political environment, for a Democrat to break away from their party on the basis of an immigration viewpoint. Mayor Oscar Leeser is in the right for standing up for what he believes in and should be commended for his actions.
