It’s been a wild week in politics, and things are only getting crazier. The latest news is that Republican Florida Governor DeSantis has been accused of being a human trafficker by Democrat Congressman Hakeem Jeffries. But DeSantis is fighting back, pointing out the glaring hypocrisies in his statement.
Daily Wire reports. DeSantis (R) attacked Jeffries (D-NY), chairman of the House Democrats, for claiming on Tuesday that he and Texas Governor Abbott (R) were “behaving like human traffickers.”
After DeSantis sent 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, a rich liberal enclave off the coast of Massachusetts last week, Jeffries made these remarks.
DeSantis responded during a press conference on Tuesday saying, “When Biden is flying these people all over the fruited plain in the middle of the night, I didn’t hear a peep out of those people.” and then he unloaded.
It’s truly amazing that in the year 2022, we still have elected officials spouting off nonsense like this. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries should be ashamed of himself for comparing two governors who are simply trying to enforce the law to human traffickers. DeSantis and Abbott are both doing what they can to protect their citizens, and anyone who tries to call them out with false accusations deserves nothing but contempt.
