Former FOX News Sunday host, Chris Wallace, is probably wishing he didn’t leave his post for CNN right about now. If you’re a fan of Fox News, then you’re probably familiar with Chris Wallace. He’s the veteran anchor who has been with the network since 2003. Recently, he made the jump to the now defunct CNN+ to host his own show, after that bombed they moved him to his own Sunday show on the network. And now, it doesn’t seem to be going too well. His premiere totally bombed and when he sees Trey Gowdy’s numbers he’ll realize his career of pushing corporate propaganda is over.
According to Radar Online, In its debut, Chris Wallace’s new show on CNN fell flat.
Wallace hosts a primetime show as part of CNN’s Sunday night lineup, called “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” Aside from its weekly spot in the network’s primetime lineup, Wallace’s show also airs on the HBO Max streaming service.
The brutal ratings show that there were 401,000 viewers, down 29% from the average, and 44,000 among those aged 25 to 54, down 64% from the average.
As noted by the New York Post, Wallace was crushed by the competition at his former workplace.
Trey Gowdy, who hosts “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy,” generated an audience of 1.3 million viewers – more than three times Wallace’s.
Gowdy drew 78,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic, nearly doubling Wallace.
As we previously reported, in December 2021, Wallace left Fox News, stating that he wanted to try something new.
After serving 18 years with FOX, Wallace originally signed with the cable news network in December to serve as one of the headlining stars of the network’s much-hyped streaming service, CNN+, which has since been discontinued.
