The acting director of the National Hurricane Center shut down CNN’s Don Lemon on Tuesday after he asked about how climate change affects Hurricane Ian.

According to FOX News, During CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight,” Jamie Rhome discussed Hurricane Ian, which is approaching Florida’s coast and may become a Category 5 storm.

Lemon mentioned that meteorologists have said Hurricane Ian could undergo “a second rapid intensification” and asked Rhome what effect climate change has on this phenomenon.

Here’s how Rhome shut Lemon down.

This latest epic fail comes just weeks after CNN’s new CEO announced that the network would remove Don Lemon from his prime-time slot and cancel Don Lemon Tonight.

However, Lemon wasn’t the only person to try and make a connection between Hurricane Ian and climate change.

DailyMail.com reports that, while Hurricane Ian barreled toward Florida, Sen. Amy Klobuchar said on MSNBC that voters should vote Democratic in the midterm elections to fight climate change.

Klobuchar’s comment prompted mockery on social media because there is no known Democratic policy that has stopped a hurricane.

One person tweeted in response, “Sounds like a threat. Vote for us, or the hurricanes will continue..”

And Christina Pushaw from Governor DeSantis’ cabinet said, “So the “Inflation Reduction Act” didn’t stop inflation, but she expects us to believe it will stop….hurricanes?”
