The news that Trevor Noah was walking came as a surprise to his staff since he had nearly two years left on his contract. It’s clear that he saw the writing on the wall since his Nielsen ratings were in the toilet – just like CNN’s.
He made the shocking announcement on-air last week.
According to Trending Politics, a Comedy Central spokesperson confirmed Noah’s departure, saying “We are grateful to Trevor for our amazing partnership over the past seven years. With no timetable for his departure, we’re working together on next steps.”
Despite Comedy Central calling Noah’s presence “amazing,” Breitbart’s John Nolte noted that ratings have fallen by 75% since Noah joined the show.
John Nolte added that Jon Stewart averaged 1.3 million viewers per night when he left the Daily Show in 2015. Stewart’s hand-picked replacement, Trevor Noah, is slinking off with an average viewership of 363,000 viewers as of last week after seven years of humiliating failure.
President Trump took to Truth Social to mock Noah’s departure from the program, writing, “Trevor Noah was a waste of time, no talent, no anything. Jon Stewart was only slightly better, but highly overrated. Comedy Central should focus on comedy and not politics, because they’re not very good at it. If these characters ever went neutral or Conservative, they’d double and triple up the ratings—but nobody’s figured that out except me! Congratulations to John Nolte for his unique brilliance and insight.”
