An electric car manufacturer has issued a recall on almost all of its vehicles following a massive safety issue.

Electric vehicles are still a new technology, yet the core components that make up the vehicles are old technology. It is hard to imagine that a recall can occur for the simplest of mistakes. 

Daily Caller reports. 

Rivian is recalling approximately 12,200 of the 13,198 vehicles it has delivered due to a loose fastener that could result in loss of steering control, according to a recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall has left some investors questioning if the company will be able to hit its production goal of 25,000 vehicles by the end of the year after supply-chain struggles already forced the company to slash production expectations, Reuters reported Monday.

This news comes after discovering that Tesla vehicles are catching on fire in Florida.

Next News Network reported. Florida’s North Collier Fire Rescue extinguished a stationary but burning EV after Hurrican3 Ian, highlighting the dangers of these electric vehicles.

Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis tweeted, “There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before. At least on this kind of scale. #HurricaneIan.”

While Americans race to purchase electric vehicles to save money on gasoline, just remember that there are still a lot of issues with electric vehicles. Pretty crazy stuff.
