In a debate Thursday in Michigan, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon criticized Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s support for the Defund the Police movement.
Breitbart reports, a question from a voter named Joe in Grand Rapids asked the candidates what they plan to do to make communities feel safe “knowing that there is still a defund the police movement out there.”
During the debate, Whitmer said that she will “continue investing in law enforcement,” however, as noted by RNC Research, she said in 2020 that she supported the “spirit” of defunding police.
This week’s debate between Whitmer and Dixon was a fiery one, with Whitmer’s record on funding for law enforcement coming under fire. Whitmer may see our brave men and women in blue as a financial burden, but Dixon knows their value and is committed to fully supporting them. Gretchen Whitmer may want to defund the police, but we need to defund Whitmer and vote her back to her civilian life. It’s time to send this female Hitler packing and get a governor who will support our law enforcement and keep our communities safe. Let’s make November 8th a red wave that washes Whitmer away once and for all.
