On Thursday, President Joe Biden was criticized for false claims he made about the price of gasoline when he took office.

The Daily Wire writes, Biden falsely stated that the price of gasoline was $5 per gallon when he took office while speaking at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York.

“Today, the most common price of gas in America is $3.39 — down from over $5 when I took office,” Biden said.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas on Thursday was $3.76. Meanwhile, the cost for gas on Jan. 20, 2021, the day Biden took office, was approximately $2.39.

Twitter users attacked these comments as blatant lies, fact-checking both the current national average gas price and the price in January 2021.

“The lies are staggering,” radio host Clay Travis tweeted.

“It’s not hyperbole to say Joe Biden is the biggest liar in presidential history. And that’s saying something because they all lie all the time. But he tell these bizarre black and white lies that any idiot can verify. It’s honestly very strange,” Jesse Kelly, host of “The Jesse Kelly Show,” wrote.

Surprisingly, even Snopes, a fact-checker friendly to Democrats, called out Biden’s claim as “false.”

Snopes wrote, “It was true that the national average for U.S. gas prices dropped by about $1.25 from between June and October 2022. However, the two figures [that Biden presented] were incorrect.”

As anyone who’s been paying attention knows, the Democratic Party has a serious problem with facts and reality. They consistently make false claims and then refuse to admit when they’re wrong. The latest example of this is this report about Joe Biden’s claim that gas prices were $5 per gallon when he took office. We all know that gas prices have been skyrocketing over the past year, but for Biden to try to take credit for that is just ridiculous. It’s time for a change.
