As Pennsylvania’s Democrat Senate nominee, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, took the stage at a Get Out the Vote rally in Pittsburgh with former President Barack Obama, American Flags lined behind him fell to the ground.

As reported by Breitbart, after Fetterman had taken the stage for a moment and had begun delivering his remarks, a gust of wind toppled six American flags. The Democrat continued on either unfazed or unaware of the flags blowing to the ground.

As noted by The Daily Wire, several social media users found symbolic meaning in the flags falling Saturday morning, sharing the moment on social media.

Donald Trump Jr., tweeted, “The perfect metaphor for Fetterman’s campaign”

Drew Hernandez commented, “It doesn’t get anymore clear than this”

“After listening to @JohnFetterman it might make more sense to fly the American flag upside down,” former Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker wrote.

What a visual for a sunken candidate,” Club for Growth Vice President of Government Affairs Scott T. Parkinson said.

According to FiveThirtyEight on Monday, Fetterman and Oz are neck and neck in the polls, with the Democrat candidate having a slight lead over Oz.

As if this election couldn’t get any stranger, internet users were sent into a frenzy after God apparently sent a sign at the Fetterman rally. As Democratic candidate John Fetterman stood at the podium, six American flags suddenly toppled over in a gust of wind. While some saw it as a sign from above and an omen for Democrats, others took to social media to pray for victory in Pennsylvania and urge voters to choose Dr. Oz instead. Regardless of personal beliefs, the falling flags provided a perfect metaphor for the current state of our divided country. One can only hope that no matter who comes out on top in November, we can come together as one united nation once again.
