I wanted to share with you something that Donald Trump said about Mitch McConnell. It’s pretty clear that the mainstream media is trying to paint a picture of disaster for the Republican Party with Trump at the helm. But Donald Trump knows exactly where the problem is – Mitch McConnell.

According to Donald Trump, Republican senators should delay voting on who will be GOP leader.

Trump blasted McConnell as “a disaster for the Republican Party and the country” on Truth Social.

“Agree with this 100%! Mitch McConnell is a disaster for the Republican Party and the Country. He should have improved Infrastructure to fix it, not the Green New Deal, wrapped up like Infrastructure. He gave the Democrats 4 Trillion Dollars to throw out the window, and backed bad candidates like Lisa Murkowski.”

The president was responding to an article in the Federalist by ELLE PURNELL titled, “After Epic Failure, Growing Chorus Of Senators Signals It’s Time For McConnell To Go.”

The Federalist reported, After Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sabotaged Republicans in the 2022 midterms — pulling spending from competitive Republican candidates such as Blake Masters and even actively spending money against state GOP-endorsed candidates like Alaska’s Kelly Tshibaka — Republicans are increasingly calling on McConnell to step down from Senate leadership.

The GOP lost the Senate because of McConnell.

Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley said in an interview with RealClearPolitics on Friday, McConnell and “Washington Republicanism” are to blame for Republicans’ inability to formulate a clear midterm strategy. “I’m not going to support the current leadership in the party,” he told reporters, ‘We need new leadership in that position.’

Marco Rubio, who won reelection by a wide margin, took to Twitter on Friday to call for the “Senate GOP leadership vote next week” to be “postponed.”

Wyoming Republican Cynthia Lummis retweeted Rubio’s tweet, simply stating “Second.”

Republican Mike Lee of Utah, who just won reelection against independent Evan McMullin, signed a letter calling on Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson and Florida’s Rick Scott to postpone the GOP leadership vote.

Late Friday afternoon, Texas senator Ted Cruz called for a delay in the Senate leadership vote. “It makes no sense for Senate to have leadership elections before GA runoff. We don’t yet know whether we’ll have a majority & Herschel Walker deserves a say in our leadership,” he said.

In January, South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham said he would not support McConnell unless he worked with former President Donald Trump on an “America First agenda.”

During a Fox News town hall on Nov. 1, J.D. Vance, the newest senator from Ohio, refused to support McConnell for Senate leadership.

Despite the rejection of Mitch Mconnell by top officials in the GOP, Tom Cotton showed his true colors once again by supporting McConnell for GOP Senate Leader.

McConnell needs to go. He’s pulled spending from competitive Republican candidates, and sabotaged Republicans in the 2022 midterms. Trump is right. We need new leadership. McConnell has failed us. He’s a disaster for the Republican Party and the country. It’s time for him to step aside. Republican senators should delay voting on who will be GOP leader. We need someone who will fight for us, not against us. It’s clear others are following Trump’s lead on this action because Trump is a fighter, and he’s not afraid to take on the establishment. And now he’s fired his first shots directly at McConnell. This is a war we can win, and Trump is the leader we need to win it.
