RINO McConnell Retains Grip on Power After Knocking Back Challenger Rick Scott

The chief anti Trumper in the senate just got news that he was going to remain in power a bit longer so he can continue his assault on Trump’s chances for a 2024 victory.

The Senate Minority Leader won re-election on Wednesday after defeating Florida Sen. Rick Scott. The Republican senators, according to a Friday Politico report, urged delaying the election until after Georgia’s runoff between Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican Sen. Herschel Walker.

In his response to the senators on Tuesday, McConnell dismissed their arguments and pushed forward with the leadership vote.

It seems pretty clear what the outcome will be, McConnell said. I would like to repeat myself. I will be elected because I have the votes. We only need to decide when to do it.”

This week, Scott, who headed the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the midterms, launched his bid to unseat McConnell. His main responsibility was to help Senate Republicans get elected to the Senate through the Senate Republicans’ campaign arm. During the 2022 midterm elections, the Republicans lost a slate of close contests and failed to gain any additional seats under the leadership of the Florida senator.

McConnells victory was not without some major names not backing him.

The Texas Tribune reported.

Senator Ted Cruz voted Wednesday to oust Minority Leader Mitch McConnell from the top of his party’s conference, but McConnell survived the challenge.

Cruz supported US Senator Rick Scott’s bid to replace McConnell during a closed-door Republican meeting on Wednesday, the first challenge to the Kentucky senator’s leadership since he took control of the party in 2007. Scott is the head of the Senate Republican campaign arm.

But a large 37-member majority voted against Scott’s bid for leader during the meeting that lasted 3.5 hours.

Cruz had also introduced a motion in the meeting to delay leadership elections until all races in the upper chamber were called. Until a January runoff, one of Georgia’s Senate seats is up for grabs between Democratic incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker. Democrats currently have a 50-seat majority with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker.

McConnell has been working endlessly to ruin America First Candidates, and Donald Trump for the last couple of years. Now, with McConnell retaining his seat of power all of the cards that the Republican establishment needs to launch never ending campaigns against Trump are in place, and that is a place Trump has been before. Now as we sit back and wait for the fireworks to begin in earnest, it will be just a matter of time before the RINO establishment truly shows their hand, and we can get them out of office and elect true America first representatives.

Let’s continue this conversation, in the comments below.
