When the Fake news nearly brings the world to the brink of Nuclear Armageddon there are consequences. And one reporter who was towing the warhawks wet-dream of world war 3 found out the hard was becoming the 3rd casualty of his own making.

The Associated Press scared the world last Tuesday when it alerted readers that “a senior U.S intelligence official” said Russian missiles had crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people. A Media manipulation technique known as “misinformation” had been used to convince Americans there was an emergency and that a reaction was necessary before it was too late . The fool behind this plan was James LaPorta, the investigative reporter responsible for that story who sent out a warning message via his trusted government sources triggering the global media on what might happen if nothing was done about the errant missile fired by Ukraine.

The Daily Mail reports, last Tuesday, James LaPorta, a 35-year-old award-winning investigative reporter, broke the story that caused panic across the world that NATO would be dragged into the conflict.

Media outlets around the world published the breaking news, sparking real fears of World War Three breaking out as a result of the newswire report.

A day later, US and NATO leaders said the missile was misfired by Ukraine. Still, Ukraine blames Vladimir Putin for the incident and is yet to admit that he was responsible.

As a result of these fears, some Western officials have cast doubt on Poland’s version of events, believing NATO is hiding the truth so as not to get sucked into a war with Poland.

The Daily Beast reports, following the report’s widespread citations on the internet and cable news, it was taken offline the next day and replaced with an editor’s note acknowledging that the single source was wrong and that “subsequent reporting indicated that the missiles were Russian-made and probably fired by Ukraine to defend against Russian attacks.”

On Monday, the AP fired investigative reporter James LaPorta for that story.

Although the AP “routinely seeks and requires more than one source when sourcing is anonymous,” the original AP article (co-written with John Leicester) gave credit to just one “senior U.S. intelligence official.”

When you almost cause World War III there will be pretty big consequences, and that’s exactly what happened when James LaPorta of the Associated Press released a story based on misinformation. LaPorta’s article, which claimed that Russian missiles had crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people and set off a global scare almost triggering WW3 with his “Fake News.” LaPorta would have been responsible for the death of millions. As it stands, there were only 2 deaths as a result of the errant missile, but now there is a 3rd, his own reputation. Goodbye, James LaPorta. Thank god your story didn’t trigger global war.
