NYC is About To Impose Another BAN And This One Could THREATEN The Safety in Your Own Home

While crime continues to skyrocket in New York, lawmakers are doing MORE than nothing about it. While the lawmakers are pretending to care about crime, they’re pandering the criminals. It’s gotten so bad that criminals are being discriminated against by their landlords. But worry not, the government is here to help.

Breitbart reported, According to a summary of Intro. 632, the “bill would prohibit housing discrimination in rentals, sales, leases, subleases, or occupancy agreements in New York City, on the basis of arrest records or criminal history.” “Landlords, owners, agents, employees, and real estate brokers would be prohibited from obtaining criminal record information at any stage in the process,” the summary adds.

In a public announcement, New York Councilwoman Inna Vernikov disclosed her reasons for voting no.

The New York Times even took time out from its propaganda schedule to highlight a heartbreaking case from 2011 about a woman who had been released from prison.

According to the New York times, After she was released from prison in 2011, Kandra Clark spent five years sleeping on friends’ couches while searching for a new home in New York City. She had a full-time job, but landlords routinely denied Ms. Clark’s rental applications, citing background checks that she believed had flagged her fraud-related conviction. Ms. Clark, 37, who is now an executive at a nonprofit group that helps formerly incarcerated people, eventually found a landlord who accepted her application, in Queens, but the process was “exhausting and defeating,” she said.

Removing background checks could indicate to some renters that criminality will be tolerated in their building or community, which may start a dangerous trend of increasing their tenant pool of willing criminals. Outrageous doesn’t even begin to describe the situation here – unless what we’re really saying is outrageous solutions make up a typical legislative day at the office. Background checks are an important part of preventing crime – outlawing them altogether does nothing but put both citizens with no guns at greater risk. We should not forget that lesson anytime soon.
