There is a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, CNN anchor Jake Tapper admitted Monday.
The Daily Caller reports, during this show, Tapper suggested to Republican Kentucky Representative James Comer that a bipartisan, “comprehensive bill” in Congress would solve the problem of record-high migrant and fentanyl influxes at the border.
“It is a crisis at the border, without question,” Tapper said.
According to Comer, the new GOP majority in the House hopes to increase pressure on Biden to secure the border and cut off the flow of fentanyl. According to him, the party plans to address the surging crime rate as well.
Since Biden assumed office in January 2021, the migrant surge has more than doubled.
In the 2022 fiscal year, which began in October 2021, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehensions of migrants surpassed 2.3 million for the first time.
There were 230,678 migrants apprehended at the border in October, the start of the fiscal year 2023, up from 164,837 in October of the previous year, according to CBP data.
The border crisis is a national security issue, and it’s one that the mainstream media can’t ignore anymore. CNN host Jake Tapper’s admittance of the reality of the situation is a rare instance of the truth about our border situation being reported by a mainstream media outlet. The Biden administration has been getting a pass from the media on this issue, but the truth is that our southern border is not secure. We need to take action to protect America and our citizens by securing our border now.
