Joe Biden just got some bad news from a chorus of Democrat Senators about his gun control agenda, news that will make law-abiding gun owners across the country rejoice. Despite millions of dollars spent by the left to push their anti-gun agenda, top Dems are facing the music but that doesn’t mean they are giving up.
Town Hall reports, Biden has long called for a ban on assault weapons, and he just doubled down on it this holiday weekend, causing concern among Second Amendment supporters. However, Democratic senators are more realistic about the likelihood of such sweeping legislation passing. When asked whether they have the votes to pass such a ban, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) admitted to host Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the answer is “probably not.”
As Murphy acknowledges, he’s not sure if the ban has those 60 votes “right now.” However, he’s not given up entirely.
As long as at least 50 senators are Democrats or caucus with them, in addition to Vice President Kamala Harris’ tie breaking vote, Democrats will still hold the majority in the next Congress. With the runoff election scheduled for December 6, it’s possible that they will increase their majority if Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) holds onto his seat against Republican opponent Herschel Walker.
The left has been trying to take away our guns for years. They’ve thrown millions of dollars at gun control initiatives and they’ve been relentless in their efforts. But it looks like they might finally be starting to face reality. A number of Democratic senators have made some shocking admissions about Joe Biden’s gun control agenda, and it’s clear that they know they don’t have the votes. This is good news for law-abiding gun owners across the country. We’re not going to give up our guns without a fight, and it’s encouraging to see that some Democrats are finally starting to see things our way. We need to stay vigilant, though. The left will never stop coming for our guns, and we need to be ready to fight back.
