Ron Desantis and his team are not ones to mince words when it comes to going head to head with the liberal media, and this time they don’t hold back.

Fox news reports, In its reporting on Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ relationship with the media, Semafor, a new media outlet founded by Ben Smith and Justin Smith, has faced major backlash.

The Semafor media reporter Max Tani detailed the governor’s preference for interviewing with conservative media outlets, including two new Florida publications, in an article titled, “Ron DeSantis is building his own media.” His media habits were framed as an effort to obtain easy interviews and friendly publicity from the governor.

As Tani framed it on Twitter, “Ron DeSantis is building his own alternative conservative media ecosystem in Florida,”

While Semafor’s official Twitter account said, “The Florida governor has been freezing out the mainstream press and giving interviews to outlets backed by GOP donors.”

Desantis’s communications director Christina Pushaw tweeted back “When your options are rabidly partisan legacy media, Democrat activists posing as a Capitol Press Corps, a pay4play Lincoln Project blog, and ‘new media’ like Semafor (allegedly owned by Sam Bankman-Fried), of course it makes sense to cultivate an alternative”

Deputy Press Secretary Jeremy Redfern tweeted back to Tani’s attack asking “Are you going to be ok?”

These attacks came as Desantis was fighting to help victims from hurricane Ian.

According to the Daily Caller, as a result of FEMA denying Florida’s request for funds, DeSantis announced the state would provide $25 million for repairs to damaged homes. Most of these funds will be given to nonprofit organizations that will distribute the aid.

Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis announced that $35.2 million in private donations raised through the Florida Disaster Fund will also go to the state’s home repair program.

It’s hilarious to watch conservatives begin to take the fight back to the liberals when it comes to fair media coverage. For years and years the left has controlled the narrative, and conservatives have been scared to make statements because whatever they said would be spun in the news and they would be made to look like fools. Now, not only with Ron Desantis but across the country conservatives are pushing back on the establishment media and are regaining their voices. All of this stems from Donald Trump’s pushback, and in some cases the complete destruction of liberal media outlets when they attempted to lie about what was being said. Great work Team Desantis, and keep up the fight everyone else, it looks like this culture war is starting to shift back to us!
