Recently, Tom Cotton gave some tough love to Krogers’ CEO. In an attempt to merge with another grocery chain, Kroger is running into opposition from the Democrats. As a result, the company’s CEO begged Republicans for assistance. However, Krogers was sued recently by employees who were forced to wear pride rainbows as part of their duties. The CEO was basically told by Tom Cotton that he was on his own.
According to FOX Business, Senator Tom Cotton scolded “woke” CEOs who expect Republicans to come to their defense “Best of luck” when Democrats want to regulate their industries.
Cotton railed against companies interfering with cultural issues when he discussed the Kroger-Albertsons merger. He compared it to tech companies asking for GOP protection from Democratic overregulation.
As noted by the American Lookout, companies are free to do whatever they want, but nobody is obligated to save them.
After pushing ‘woke’ initiatives in the workplace, Kroger’s CEO was left stunned when he showed up begging for assistance from Republicans. Sorry Kroger, but Tom Cotton isn’t here to save you this time. Instead of handing out any favors, Cotton told the CEO that companies have to pay the price for their litany of transgressions and now it’s time to face consequences for their actions. It’s a reminder that no matter how wealthy or powerful you may be, nobody is exempt from taking responsibility for what they do.
