Private Jet Report Shows Just How Much of a ‘Climate Warrior’ Pete Buttigieg Really Is

There’s nothing less original than a Democrat who constantly rants about climate change, and the need to bankrupt Americans to save the planet, while enjoying unnecessary gas-guzzling private jet travel. John Kerry may have perfected the art of hypocrisy, but may have some competition from Pete Buttigieg, the Transportation Secretary.

In a report conducted by Americans for Public Trust cited by Townhall, Buttigieg flew on taxpayer-funded private jets at least 18 times since taking the helm of the Department of Transportation.

Private jets are among the worst offenders when it comes to carbon emissions.

Although Buttigieg frequently urged the federal government to take action to curb carbon emissions, he logged the private flights instead. The number of private jet trips taken by Buttigieg is more than double that of his predecessor, Secretary Elaine Chao, during her first two years in office, yet she was criticized for them by the media.

Meanwhile, Buttigieg has been shielded from the mainstream media and Democrats for his private jet travel, which is more expensive and goes against the “green” policies of the Biden administration.

Americans for Public Trust, however, wants to hold the Secretary of Transportation to the standard Democrats have set when it comes to taxpayer-funded travel and carbon emissions.

In a statement, APT executive director Caitlin Sutherland told Fox News Digital, “For someone so holier-than-thou on reducing emissions, Buttigieg sure doesn’t seem to mind the pollution caused by his literal jet-setting. This is hypocrisy at its finest, and these troubling expenses to taxpayers must come under immediate scrutiny.”

This is not the first time Secretary Buttigieg was caught defying the very same principles he expects the American people to adhere to.

Last year, Buttigieg was accused of attempting to stage a photo op after a video showed security staffers unloading his bike from an SUV at the White House.

The security personnel are seen removing the bike from the back of the vehicle in a video captured by CNN White House correspondent DJ Judd. As Buttigieg biked towards his destination, a pair of SUVs followed closely behind him.

As noted by FOX News, the video of Buttigieg came at a time when Biden was pledging to implement “green” transportation systems and energy infrastructure in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.

Despite championing the Biden administration’s “green” policies, the Private Jet Report conducted by Americans for Public Trust found that Pete Buttigieg has been taking 18 taxpayer-funded private flights since his tenure as secretary of transportation. This exposes the hypocrisy and double standard at play, as rules related to carbon emissions are laid out for citizens but not followed by those in power. The same rules don’t apply to those who are frequently shielded from mainstream media and Democrats, such as Pete Buttigieg opting for expensive private jet travel instead of reducing his own carbon footprint. This is just another example of the Biden administration saying: Rules for thee but not for me!
