HA! AOC’s Climate Change Documentary BOMBS at the Box Office – The Numbers are BRUTAL

A new climate change documentary by NY Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez premiered in theaters over the weekend, generating an abysmal $80 per theater.

According to FOX News, the new film “To the End” follows Cortez and Varshini Prakash, a climate activist, Rhiana Gunn-Wright, a climate policy writer, and political strategist Alexandra Rojas as they attempt to pass climate change legislation in Congress.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently has an 88% “fresh” critic score but has a 2.1/10 rating on IMDb.

Over the weekend, the documentary opened on more than 120 screens but generated less than $10,000 at the box office, placing 33rd overall.

On FOX News’ ‘Outnumbered’, co-host Kennedy ripped into AOC for her climate change film.

There have been a number of Oscar-bait films this year that have struggled to gain traction in theaters, with critics blaming the increase in streaming platforms, distrust of critic scores, and topics that don’t interest a large swathe of the public for the drop-off in audience.

In recent years, climate change documentaries have not attracted a significant audience, which may have contributed to the film’s meager earnings.

As noted by the American Lookout, AOC is constantly portrayed as a star in the liberal media, which makes the failure of her documentary seem so strange.

Supporters of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) were no doubt hoping to turn out in force for the triumphant release of her climate change documentary, “To the End.” However, it seems this cry to action went largely unanswered, resulting in a box office bomb of epic proportions! To say that the film was a huge flop would be an understatement – it barely made more than $9,000 from more than 120 screens – an abysmal $80 per theater. This incredibly poor turnout at the cinema demonstrates that viewers are unfortunately not investing their time and money into a cause like climate change as much as AOC and others had hoped. It looks like Americans have other things on their mind right now and this horrible film did not even make the grade.
