Twitter Headquarters in Florida? This GOP Rep Just Sent Open Invite to CEO Elon Musk

On Monday, Rep. Carlos Giménez (R-FL) urged Twitter CEO Elon Musk to relocate the platform’s headquarters to his state.

According to the Daily Wire, Musk was requested by Giménez to relocate to Miami-Dade County in order to escape the leftist environment in San Francisco.

Giménez’s letter to Musk reads in part, “I am writing to you as the former Mayor of Miami-Dade County who now has the distinct honor of representing my community in Congress. We want to encourage you to explore our Free State of Florida and make the move to relocate Twitter to Miami-Dade County.”

Governor Ron DeSantis’ freedom-oriented policies in Florida contrasted with California’s “leftist dystopia,” the letter noted.

Gimenez is not the first leader to call for Twitter to move out of California. Additionally, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott encouraged Musk to move Twitter under his leadership, since he already has an established presence in the Lone Star state with SpaceX and his other businesses.

In April, Governor Abbott tweeted, “@elonmusk. Bring Twitter to Texas to join Tesla, SpaceX & the Boring company.”

Kristi Noem, the Republican governor of South Dakota, also invited Twitter to move to her state in April, tweeting at the time, “@ElonMusk, if Twitter is in need of a new HQ, South Dakota is open for business.”

Republican Representative Carlos Giménez recognizes how freedom of speech is at stake in California and recently made a move to invite Twitter CEO Elon Musk to move the company’s headquarters from San Francisco all the way down to Florida. Giménez argued that Florida’s freedom-oriented policies contrast the “leftist dystopia” environment in California and provides an open invitation for Twitter to be part of a state that respects fundamental rights. Florida is quickly becoming the spot for new start-ups and with growing businessfriendly trends and regulations, Elon Musk could potentially move Twitter corporate headquarters there.
