During her regular Thursday press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) snapped at a reporter for asking a question about whether she plans to finish her term as Speaker after she hands over the gavel in January.

In her remarks, the outgoing Speaker discussed her legacy as a leader within her party, saying she could not even compare her decades of service to the passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, a law championed and signed into law by President Obama.

However, according to the Daily Wire, as soon as a reporter asked whether Pelosi would complete her final term if the gavel were resigned, Pelosi’s attitude soured.

Pelosi’s response wasted more time than simply saying “yes” or “no.”

After the midterm elections, Pelosi announced that she would step down from leadership, but would stay on as a backbencher to help guide Democrats as they reenter the minority.

In November, Pelosi was elected to a two-year term, but she has not committed herself to serving the full term, as noted by Townhall. This is why the question was asked on Thursday.

Despite many Americans – especially those who live within the district she serves – wanting to know if Pelosi would complete her full two-year term, she only offered a three word response that astonished everyone. Though such an answer was perhaps expected, voters deserve to know what the Speaker’s plans are amidst the upcoming Democrat minority in the House. It remains unclear whether Pelosi will complete her term or not, leaving those wondering what decision she will make and if it will come soon or later. Nevertheless, Pelosi’s non-answer has left citizens confused yet frustrated at the lack of clarity on a reasonable question.
