New Yorkers were stunned this week when a photo surfaced of New York City Mayor Eric Adams doing the unthinkable during a holiday party despite warning citizens to submit themselves to fear in an effort to combat the ‘tripledemic.’
In an effort to reduce spread of the flu, respiratory syncytial virus, and Covid this winter, Mayor Eric Adams encouraged New Yorkers to dust off their masks and spread love without spreading the virus.
However, a few hours later, he was photographed socializing maskless at an event hosted by the New York Post.
Dana Kennedy, a Senior Reporter at the New York Post, posted the photo on Twitter, adding, “Thanks @NYCMayor for dropping by the New York Post Christmas party!”
Social media users criticized Adams’ hypocrisy after seeing him at the event maskless.
One Twitter user wrote, “”Daytime [Adams] wants you to mask up,” one user wrote. “Nighttime [Adams] wants to party all night, maskless … Don’t listen to Daytime [Adams] … Do what works for you.”
“lol you first,” another commented.
Mayor Eric Adams’ hypocrisy in regard to the health measures put in place by his own office is an utter disgrace. His hypocrisy was exposed when photos surfaced of him maskless at the holiday party despite warning citizens that submission to fear was necessary in order to combat the ‘tripledemic’. It appears that the rules he urged upon other New Yorkers did not quite apply to himself, thereby setting a terrible example for his constituents – illustrating the sentiment of ‘rules for thee but not for me’. The hypocrisy of this act has been met with well-deserved criticism, further emphasizing that public figures should adhere to the same standards they expect from those they govern.
