Stunned doesn’t even begin to describe how most of us feel upon learning that President Joe Biden quietly handed over a half of a million dollars to a group with the stated goal of spying on people in this country. It’s hard for us to imagine that our president invested such substantial funds into it, but one thing is certain: it’s a constitutional violation and certainly not something patriotic citizens should take lightly or ignore.

It has been revealed that the Biden Administration is awarding more than half a million dollars to fund artificial intelligence that censors language on social media to eliminate ‘microaggressions’.

In this research, the government is taking on the role of online content moderator.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, the funding was awarded to researchers at the University of Washington in March to develop technologies that would protect online users from ‘discriminatory’ language as part of Biden’s $1.9 trillion ‘American Rescue Plan’.

In March, President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan awarded the University of Washington researchers a grant to develop technology that protects online users from discriminatory language. A total of $550,436 is expected to be awarded to the researchers over the next five years, in addition to the $132,000 already received.

Machine-learning models are being developed by the researchers to detect implicit bias and microaggressions, commonly defined as slights that cause offense to marginalized groups. According to the lead researcher on the University of Washington project, something as tame as praising meritocracy could be considered a microaggression.

Despite criticism of the research grant, the National Science Foundation’s spokesman said it “does not attempt to stifle free speech.” As part of the project, “automated methods of identifying biases in speech” and addressing human content moderators’ biases are created, he claimed.

However, according to Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, it is a project to make it easier for leftist allies to censor speech.”

“Communists using AI to amplify and enforce their revolution,” Fitton added on Twitter. 

As noted by Summit News, these revelations follow ongoing revelations about the FBI and the Biden administration basically policing Twitter information.

It is a disgrace that the Biden Administration is using taxpayer money to fund artificial intelligence for censoring language on social media. This grant of over half a million dollars to the University of Washington researchers is the kind of project that Orwell wrote about in his book ‘1984’ and it goes against our held principles of free speech. By policing ideas and thoughts, it invades our privacy in a way that a government should never do and sets a dangerous precedent for any government power to regulate opinions. Governments should not be arbitrarily silencing those with whom they disagree.
