Robot Does One Final Desperate Act Before Dying

There is some sad news coming from the planet Mars as one of NASA’s robots sent off a farewell message and one final desperate action.

The red planet has held many mysteries for the human race, and apparently will continue to hold many of its secrets for years and years to come. But humans have sent rovers, satellites, and have taken very high resolution images in order to explore some of those mysteries. But sadly, one of our most powerful tools on Mars, just died.

Daily wire reports, on Monday, NASA’s InSight lander posted one final selfie before losing power, likely ending its mission that began in 2018.

It is possible this is InSight’s last image, which comes shortly after the most powerful quake ever recorded on Mars.

Nasa InSight rover sent a farewell message stating “My power’s really low, so this may be the last image I can send. Don’t worry about me though: my time here has been both productive and serene. If I can keep talking to my mission team, I will – but I’ll be signing off here soon. Thanks for staying with me.

A NASA update on Monday revealed that Mars InSight’s communications had stopped working.

“The lander’s power has been declining for months, as expected, and it’s assumed InSight may have reached its end of operations. It’s unknown what prompted the change in its energy; the last time the mission contacted the spacecraft was on Dec. 15, 2022,” the update read. “The mission will continue to try and contact InSight.”

This announcement comes shortly after NASA revealed a first ever for mars.

Daily wire writes, a sound from another planet was heard last week by scientists and released for the public to hear.

NASA’s Perseverance rover was sprayed with dust by swirling columns of wind and dust known as Martian dust devils, which traveled directly above it. During the dust phenomenon, the microphone on the rover was activated.

Watch.

The sad news coming from Mars this week has been the decline of power of NASA’s InSight lander, likely ending its two year exploration mission. Earlier in the week news spread of the lander detecting its most powerful quake since landing on the red planet, and what followed was a desperate attempt to catch a glimpse during one final selfie. This moment marked the end of a journey that could have allowed us to understand our universe even better than we do today. We hope this mission can help motivate others to explore, so we might continue expanding our knowledge and understanding into the future. Fortunately we may not have to wait long as Elon Musk has promised us human travel to Mars in this decade.
