January 1st marked the day that more woke laws in California went into effect, making the state even more progressive. It seems the Left’s woke ideology will continue in 2023.

According to Townhall, the first law, SB 107, was signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif) in September, making California a “sanctuary state” for transgender children. Children who travel to California from states that restrict minors receiving the life-altering surgery will be able to receive “gender-affirming care” through drugs or surgery.

In 2022, many governors were focused on abortion, with Republican states banning it and Democrat states welcoming it.

In tandem with a referendum guaranteeing the right to abortion and contraception, SB 1375 will allow nurses to perform abortions without a doctor’s assistance.

In the first trimester of pregnancy, nurses will be able to perform the procedure without supervision from a doctor.

The third law, a Covid misinformation law, goes into effect on the first. According to the new law, which was signed in September, medical licensing boards in California must discipline doctors who disseminate misinformation or disinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

Fourth, the state has a right to control fast-food restaurants, which is currently pending in the courts. A ten-member politburo, dubbed the Fast Food Council, would be established, which would have the authority to set wages and working conditions.

Newsom also signed a law that decriminalizes jaywalking because of “racism” as well as other pieces of legislation dealing with bicyclers and those involved in hit-and-run situations.

January 1st marked the start of more woke policies taking effect in California. The far-Left ideology has taken root in the state with no signs of stopping in the upcoming year, prompting many people to flee from its boundaries and search for true freedom. With stricter woke laws coming into play, it comes as no surprise that people are worried about how far California will go with its new regulations and closer toward communism. It’s only a matter of time before woke legislation is implemented on a nationwide level, making this New Year’s change a bigger cause for concern than most.
