This Republican Governor Promises To Derail Trump’s Presidential Bid

In a recent move that is turning the entire Republican party inside out, one of the quiet republican governors has publicly stated his intention to derail President Trump and fight for his nomination of his party. Should voters have something to worry about or is this another Liz Cheney want to be?

Arkansas’ Governor Asa Hutchinson has vowed to do anything in his power to prevent President Trump from becoming the Republican nominee for the 2024 election. This is an interesting development, and throws a wrench into what could potentially be a tense primary season for the Republican party. It will be highly intriguing to observe how this plays out, as well as whether President Trump will even acknowledge his statement. Either way, voters are constantly being given more things to think about as we enter this new year.

Daily Wire reports Republican governor vows to block former President Donald Trump from becoming GOP nominee in 2024.

Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, who is considering a run for the presidency himself, was asked by ABC News’ “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl whether he would support Trump if he won the nomination again.

Here is what Liz Cheney wanna be had to say for himself on ABC.

Despite Hutchinson’s long standing belief that the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021 disqualifies Trump in 2024, he insisted it was “premature” to declare outright that he will not support Trump.

One of the biggest reasons the governor could be saying this is because thanks to term limits in Arkansas, he seeks a new future for himself.

Hutchinson, a former Drug Enforcement Administration administrator, has been Arkansas’ governor since January 2015. Term limits barred him from another bid after winning reelection in 2018.

Moreover, the governor warned the RNC against unifying the party when the time comes.

This all comes after the two politicians found common ground when they both endorsed Sarah Huckabee Sanders during the 2022 election cycle. She served as Trump’s White House press secretary between 2017 and 2019 and is the daughter of former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

CNN reported that the House committee that subpoenaed former President Donald Trump on January 6 has withdrawn the subpoena.

Chairman Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, wrote in a letter to Trump’s attorney,“In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the

specific information covered by the subpoena. Therefore, through this letter, I hereby formally withdraw the subpoena issued to former President Trump, and notify you that he is no longer obligated to comply or produce records in response to said subpoena.”

The Governor may be trying to flex his muscles with his current claims, but former president Donald Trump is no pushover. He has been known to take up challenges head-on, so it promises to be an intriguing battle should he decide to oppose the president. Most voters have expressed worry about the lack of unity among republicans and this squabble won’t do anything to boost morale. It will be interesting indeed to see how the power struggle between these politicians turns out in the end. The result will definitely shape the future of the Republican party for years to come.
