Governor DeSantis Sends For Reinforcement To Secure Florida

Governor DeSantis of Florida is taking no chances when it comes to protecting his state from the disastrous impacts of the current administration’s policies. He has recently sent out a call for reinforcements, as Floridians brace for impact from the border crisis.

DeSantis hasn’t been one to shy away from doing what he deems necessary to protect Floridians. As news of an influx of illegal migrants reaches his state, he’s taken the additional measure of calling upon the National Guard to help prevent and respond to such activity. As a rallying call for action, hoping that this will send a clear message that Florida won’t be shouldering the burden of this administration’s policies.

Town Hall reports, A large number of illegal immigrants continue to flood the U.S. as the southern border remains open thanks to President Joe Biden’s open border policies.

Governor Ron DeSantis called on the Florida National Guard on Friday to assist local officials in responding to hundreds of illegal immigrants arriving in the Florida Keys.

In an executive order, DeSantis criticized Biden’s obliviousness to the crisis and blamed him for Biden’s “lawless” immigration policies.

DeSantis said in a press release, “As the negative impacts of [President] Biden’s lawless immigration policies continue unabated, the burden of the Biden Administration’s failure falls on local law enforcement who lack the resources to deal with the crisis.”

In order to combat illegal immigration in Florida, law enforcement agencies are ordered to provide resources to local governments.

In an effort to intercept migrants traveling to Florida, DeSantis will deploy planes and helicopters and reinforce marine patrols. More than 700 illegal Cuban migrants landed in the Florida Keys alone over New Years’ weekend, and the number is expected to increase.

According to DeSantis, law enforcement has encountered more than 8,000 illegal migrants off the coast of Florida since August, making it “particularly difficult” for the agency to provide the resources necessary to manage the hundreds of illegal migrants and maintain public safety.

The Florida governor has made it clear that he will not be a puppet for Biden’s agenda.

This comes after Biden visited the border for the first time since he created the disaster two years ago.

Fox reported, ‘The Border Patrol union slammed President Biden’s visit to El Paso, Texas, on Sunday amid reports that detentions have been ramped up and migrant encampments in the area have been cleaned up.

The Union mockingly tweeted, “El Paso being cleaned up as if nothing unusual ever happened there. Just in time for Biden’s visit to the border. We suggest just landing in Des Moines, Iowa and telling him it’s El Paso. He’ll never know the difference.”

As the situation in our border states continues to grow more and more dire, we have seen multiple governors take it upon themselves to call in the National Guard to help support disaster relief efforts. This move has been absolutely necessary, as there are simply too many suffering people for state governments to handle alone. It serves as a reminder of not just how bad things have become in these states, but also that the governors’ top priority must always be protecting their constituents. Without establishing an environment that empowers residents and keeps them safe, leaders risk failing they’re constituents. No-one else should take priority but them and it’s nice to see them lead by example.
