INSTANT REGRET: CRENSHAW WALKS BACK SHAMEFUL COMMENT

Seems like Dan Crenshaw has a case of the regrets after he blasted his colleagues for their negotiations during the voting process for speaker of the house.

Dan Crenshaw was just made to apologize after calling his freedom caucus congressional colleagues terrorists for the way they negotiated during the recent house speaker vote. But one thing Crenshaw did not count on was the immediate outrage his comment caused, and how much disdain conservatives have for Kevin Mccarthy.

Daily wire reports. On Sunday, Texas Republican Representative Dan Crenshaw apologized for referring to some of his Republican colleagues as “terrorists” during the negotiations that led to the election of Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the House.

Watch.

During an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Crenshaw apologized.

When Dan Crenshaw chastised his fellow Republicans, he failed to recognize that they were fighting in an effort to achieve their agenda.

Yahoo news wrote. Ted Cruz accused Representative Dan Crenshaw of using “overheated rhetoric” against GOP holdouts who refused to support House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy.

“My view is settle down. It will work out and it will be fine,” Cruz said on Friday’s Verdict with Ted Cruz podcast. “That kind of overheated rhetoric, calling people ‘terrorists,’ is not terribly conducive to anything resembling Republican unity. It’s not conducive to having strong leadership for the next two years in the House, engaging in vitriol and personal attacks.”

Dan Crenshaw Tweeted in response to his terrorist comment “Unclutch your pearls. It’s a figure of speech. You can’t insult, slander, and hold everyone hostage with no way out – and not expect me to punch back. Grow thicker skin.”

In a comment to the Washington Post’s Dylan Wells on Wednesday, Crenshaw slammed the House holdouts as well.

“I’m tired of your stupid platitudes that some consultant told you to say on the campaign trail, alright. Behind closed doors tell us what you actually want, or shut the f*** up,” he said of the defectors.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw recently gave an apology Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper for calling some of his own GOP colleagues from the Freedom Caucus “terrorists” during tense negotiations over who would become House speaker. The statement was met with shock and outrage by many in Crenshaw’s party, leaving Crenshaw little choice but to apologize for the inflammatory words he had used. It is curious what kind of remarks Crenshaw could have made in order to justify his action. Is Crenshaw serious about respecting his Republican peers, or is this just back-peddling from an abrupt reaction? Much remains to be seen as Crenshaw continues to navigate this unforgiving political storm.
