New Poll Reveals Real Reason Why Left Wing CNN Has Imploded

A new poll released has provided fascinating insight into the real reason why left-wing CNN’s ratings have imploded. And its findings should come as no surprise to many Americans. The poll reveals that many people are sick of the liberal bias on this 24-hour news network.

Most Say CNN’s Left-Wing Bias Has Driven Them Away. With sentiments most prevalent among those who lean right politically. It seems viewers even on the left yearn for an alternative news outlet which provides opinion without veering excessively to one side of the political aisle. CNN gave it a good go, but in the end it appears their radical approach backfired, leading them down the slippery slope of ideological irrelevance.

News Buster reports, A new poll from the Media Research Center, conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, finds a majority (54%) of CNN viewers are now watching the network less than they used to, with 61% of those respondents agreeing that CNN’s liberal/left-wing bias is one of the reasons they watch less often.”

The decline in CNN’s ratings is well known; its audience dipped to levels not seen in 22 years this summer, for example. According to one media executive, “CNN is in a bad place. The ratings are down really dramatically year over year.”

According to the Media Research Center poll, CNN’s biased political coverage has likely alienated many of these viewers.

A nationwide survey of 1,000 voters conducted December 9-14 found that 54 percent watched CNN in the past year. Most of them (54%) reported watching less CNN in the past year, four times as many as those who reported watching more (just 13.5%). Another 30.5 percent said their viewing habits were “about the same.”

Those who viewed less were asked to react to the following statement: “One of the reasons I find myself watching CNN less frequently is its liberal/left-wing bias.” More than half (61%) said they agreed, including the majority of self-identified moderates and liberals (52% each), and 80 percent of conservatives.

After Chris Licht, CNN’s new chairman and CEO, recently denied he wanted to position his network as more centrist.

According to The Hill, Licht said in November, “One of the biggest misconceptions about my vision is that I want to be vanilla, that I want to be centrist. That is BS. You have to be compelling. You have to have edge. In many cases you take a side. Sometimes you just point out uncomfortable questions. But either way you don’t see it through a lens of left or right.”

He may want to rethink his strategy, considering CNN’s left-wing bias is among the reasons viewers are leaving the network.

Fake News has dug itself into a hole. It’s no surprise that most Americans know their reporting is biased and hinged on “alternative facts”. Ironically, they are embracing this, acting as if they actually believe people are gullible enough to stay despite clear factual discrepancies. But ultimately, it seems the audience wants more than just spin – they want the truth that only comes with genuine journalism. Unfortunately, the current CEO doesn’t appear to be steering the organization towards a better future; rather, he is content with sinking it even further. While this is undoubtedly troubling for those who once respected these outlets, I think we all need to recognize it for what it is: their willful descent. I say we let them hang themselves. Figuratively speaking of course…

  • While I don't watch CNN for just the reason of their radical left political support, once every great while I do go to the CNN website.

So if there is any truth to some sort of reformation into a a-political news service, one which attempts to report events and happenings instead of presenting highly editorialized and biased views as "news", at some point this may also happen to their website. Because the website is still extremely biased.
