Sarah Huckabee Sanders was just sworn in as Governor of Arkansas and on day one she began to keep her promises to her constituents by issuing executive orders.
If we know anything about Sarah Huckabee Sanders we know she is a woman of her word, and she made promises on the campaign trail to abolish certain things in the state of Arkansas on day one, and she delivered spectacularly.
Washington Examiner reports, in her first official day in office, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order to combat Critical Race Theory (CRT) in schools.
First obtained by The Daily Caller, the executive order empowers the Department of Education to prevent indoctrination and CRT of Arkansas students that violate equal protection laws. Employees and students will also be prohibited from attending CRT trainings and orientations.
In spite of the fact that CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist, it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of their race. According to its adherents, “antiracism” is based on the pursuit of merit, objective truth, and the adoption of policies based on race.
Governor Sanders was not done with banning just CRT on her first day.
Action news 5 reports, following her oath of office, Sanders issued several executive orders.
On top of the executive order banning CRT, Sanders called to ban the word Latinx in all forms of government.
The order gives 60 days for state agencies, offices and departments to revise all existing written materials removing references to Latinx, Latinxs, Latinxs, or Latinxs in favor of Hispanic, Hispanics, Latinos, Latins, Latinas, or Latinas.”
A second ban prohibits the use of TikTok on state networks or devices.
According to the order, Chinese employees can access internet activity of American citizens via TikTok, and the Office of State Procurement must review all materials used by government agencies and determine if any accounts could pose a threat to the state’s safety or security.
Additionally, she signed an executive order calling for a review of unemployment benefits.
In the last three years, $53 million in unemployment benefits were improperly spent, according to the order. Arkansas issued unemployment benefits totaling $3.4 billion in 2020 and 2021.
In addition to limiting government overreach, Sanders wants to streamline the state’s government.
This executive order calls for a complete review and analysis of all existing executive orders passed in Arkansas since the state’s formation in 1836.
