Finally some actions are being taken to protect the sanctity of life, with a recent house bill that passed aimed at protecting those who try to protect unborn children.
It is shocking that despite years of protesting in defense of life, the attacks on pro-life groups and pregnancy centers have intensified since the override of Roe v. Wade. Conservative members of Congress have unequivocally condemned such acts of violence and have called upon the Biden administration to protect pro-life facilities, groups and churches using all available law enforcement authorities. Though the FBI has done little to protect conservative organizations against these reprehensible attacks, conservative members of Congress insist it is their duty to protect life and are taking action on this important issue.
Newsmax reports, after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, the House passed a concurrent resolution denouncing attacks on pro-life groups and pregnancy centers.
By a vote of 222-209, legislators also urged the Biden administration to “use all appropriate law enforcement authorities to ensure public safety and protect the rights of pro-life facilities, groups, and churches.”
Republicans and three Democratic members of Congress voted for the measure, including Vicente Gonzalez of Texas, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, and Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez of Washington.
Following last spring’s leak of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., introduced the resolution in response to 35 attacks.
Another major bill has just passed the house aimed at protecting children.
Daily wire reports. In one of its first acts this session, the GOP-controlled House passed a bill Wednesday geared toward ensuring steps are taken by health providers to protect infants born alive after an attempted abortion.
Republicans and their supporters championed the legislation as instrumental in guaranteeing life-saving care to newborns while Democrats and pro-abortion groups generally cast the bill as an attack on women’s reproductive rights and unnecessary because it is already illegal to kill infants who are born alive.
Known as the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act,” it imposes fines or up to five years in prison on health care practitioners who fail to act reasonably to “preserve the life and health of the child” after an attempted abortion. Additionally, the bill outlines civil remedies for survivors of abortions.
Congress has finally issued a resolution to protect the rights of pro-life factions, who have come under vicious attacks since the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade. Despite facing an onslaught of hatred, federally funded pregnancy centers, pro-life groups, and churches have been left largely unprotected by law enforcement thus far. With this concurrent resolution, the House has taken an important step to stand up for pro-life activists who often feel they are the targets of a malicious double standard. It is clear that Congress must protect life and that something must be done if the FBI takes no action to protect conservatives.
