Several teenagers jumped a Fox News meteorologist Sunday after he intervened to stop them harassing an older male on a New York City subway train.
Following the attack, Adam Klotz posted video to Instagram showing cuts and bruises on his face.
The altercation started around 1:00 a.m. when a couple of teenagers, allegedly smoking marijuana, attacked and approached an older man on the train, Klotz told FOX News.
Klotz said the teenagers bruised his ribs while holding him on the ground for intervening in their harassment of the older gentleman.
Due to their ages, the NYPD could not charge the suspects, and the crime was technically classified as an apparent misdemeanor. A 2019 law raised the age at which a juvenile can be charged as an adult from 17 to 18.
It is sickening and a disgrace that Fox News meteorologist, Adam Klotz, fell victim to a cowardly attack from a group of teenage thugs on a NYC subway train. After trying to stop them from harassing an elderly gentleman, Klotz was jumped and beaten, leaving him with bruises on his ribs. What’s even worse is that due to their ages, the NYPD could not charge the perpetrators. This latest incident is a clear sign of failed leadership in the city when it comes to clamping down on criminal behavior. Our prayers are with Klotz at this time.
