The Doomsday Clock has reached it’s most threatening state yet, signaling the world dangerously close to catastrophe. All while, the United States is offering Ukraine an arsenal of formidable M1 battle tanks in preparation for the ultimate showdown with Russia. In retaliation, a prominent Putin mouthpiece demanded Berlin be reduced to radioactive ash. It’s a ticking time bomb – as the seconds on the Doomsday Clock count down towards midnight, so do the world’s chances for survival against Armageddon.
On Tuesday, scientists and security experts moved the “Doomsday Clock” forward 90 seconds to midnight, signaling an increased threat to humanity’s survival from the nuclear shadow over the Ukraine conflict.
It all comes at the same time as the Biden administration announced that 30 M1 Abrams tanks would be sent to Ukraine.
With the US ready to pull the trigger, reports indicate Germany has approved Leopard 2 main battle tanks as well. The German military plans to send 14 Leopard 2 A6 tanks to Ukrainian forces.
The president of the Moscow Institute of the Middle East, told Waldman-LINE that nuclear missiles should be used on the center of German democracy. He declared the Bundestag simply should not remain standing any longer and that radioactive, melted-down ground will remain in its place.’
A former presidential advisor to both Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin and current Member of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told TRT World, that because of this move the Germans would be destroyed and that the Russians would resort to “next level violence”.
The Doomsday Clock ticking closer and closer to midnight is a grave reminder of the looming threat of annihilation that both Ukraine and the rest of the world face. The Biden administration’s decision to provide 30 M1 Abrams tanks and Germany’s subsequent approval of 14 Leopard 2 A6 tanks to Ukraine risks escalating tensions further. Any military action on either side is liable to be met with increased force in kind, possibly even nuclear missiles aimed at the center of German democracy according to Kremlin experts. It is imperative that both sides seek de-escalation rather than provocation, before we reach a point too far beyond return or repair.
