‘Maverick Flys High!’ Conservatives Celebrate Top Gun’s Oscar Best Pic Nom!

Conservatives are cheering the Best Picture Oscar nomination of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, seeing it as a victory over the woke mob. The blast-from-the-past sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 hit is brimming with old-fashioned movie values, and has become one of the most profitable films in America of this year.

From its box office success as the top-grossing movie of 2022 to its proud pro-American theme, this excellent film has outraged woke liberals everywhere who hate America and everything it stands for. For conservatives, “Top Gun: Maverick” is a thrilling reminder that patriotism never goes out of style.

Newsmax reports, Since “Top Gun: Maverick” won six Oscar nominations on Tuesday, including best picture, many conservatives have been thrilled on social media.

There was a huge turnout for Tom Cruise’s long-awaited sequel to his 1986 blockbuster hit last year. Despite its old-fashioned movie values, the film grossed $718,732,821 in United States box-office receipts in 2022, more than any other film in the year. Approximately $770 million was earned internationally.

Despite the film’s success there are some that are remaining reserved about the possibility of the film earning an award.

Conservative commentator C.J. Pearson tweeted Tuesday stating “ The Good News: Top Gun Maverick was nominated for Best Picture by the Oscars, The Bad News: Hollywood hates America so Top Gun Maverick will more than likely not be taking that award home.”

Matthew Kolken tweeted “ The only Hollywood movie I’ve seen since 2019 is Top Gun: Maverick. It was about the only movie that could get me to go to a theater again and support an industry that abhors constitutional protections, and this specifically and ironically includes freedom of speech.

Now even the New York Times weighed in on the matter by tweeting “  “Top Gun: Maverick” has been nominated for best picture at the 2023 Oscars. The movie “has nothing to say about geopolitics and everything to do with the defense of old-fashioned movie values in the face of streaming-era nihilism,” our critic writes.

Maverick will have stiff competition for best picture.

Hollywood reporter writes. Two sequels have been nominated for best picture in a single year at the Oscars. Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick are competing for the top prize, while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Glass Onion did not receive support.

Only two sequels have ever won best picture: The Godfather Part II and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. However, notable outliers like Mad Max: Fury Road and Toy Story 3 have certainly paved the way for future nominees.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Top Gun: Maverick, and Avatar: The Way of Water were all massive box office hits (Glass Onion had a limited release before hitting Netflix). Films that prove moviegoing can still be a financially viable industry are expected to top the Academy’s priority list come Oscars night, according to pundits.

Conservatives are cheering after the Oscar nomination of “Top Gun: Maverick” as best picture, citing its pro-American theme and huge box-office success. The woke mob and the liberals who hate America can barely contain their outrage over this excellent movie getting rewarded like this while they continue to push woke propaganda with decreased viewership. Conservatives everywhere feel vindicated, knowing that Hollywood can still make a quality movie that Americans love and will be praised for it in spite of the woke mob’s censure. It is time for Hollywood to recognize what Americans have known all along — there’s nothing wrong with loving your country.
