Americans have just cause to be wary when news of criminal immigrants infiltrating their cities is released. Times are dangerous enough and having criminals roam the streets freely puts innocent citizens in the crossfire. Unfortunately, this administration—which prides itself on an open border policy—willingly turns a blind eye to this avertable wrong.
It appears that the American people have been misled in terms of the level of risk associated with illegal immigration. The recent release of more than 1,300 criminal illegal aliens by the Biden administration serves as an alarming reminder of the grave situation our nation is in when it comes to immigration. This demonstrates the predictions and worst nightmares of those who have been concerned about illegal immigration. It is clear that urgent action must be taken in order to protect American citizens from potential harm or danger posed by those who enter our borders illegally. The time for talk is over; now is a moment for decisive action.
The Epoch Times reports that, according to recently disclosed statistics, the Biden administration released more than 1,300 criminal illegal aliens in a single month.
ICE released 521 convicted criminal aliens and 795 with pending criminal charges in December 2022, according to data released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Criminal aliens with pending charges and those convicted of crimes were released in greater numbers than the month prior and 48 percent above October 2022.
Congresswoman Kat Cammack grilled Secretary Mayorkas on the issue back in October on the same issue.
Most of the releases stemmed from orders of recognizance, or an interim determination that the alien in question is “not a detention priority.”
Others were placed under supervision, released due to being “unable to obtain a travel document,” or were put on parole. In the latter case, a case-by-case determination is made for “urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit” enabled by federal law.
Ron Kovach, press secretary at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told The Epoch Times via email. “The law explicitly requires that those who cross the border illegally be detained, but the Biden administration clearly doesn’t want to detain or deport anyone. So it isn’t surprising that they are releasing criminal aliens as well.”
The Washington Times, which reported on the data first, reported that immigration officers wanted to clear out space for Title 42’s end.
The report was not disputed by ICE, but the agency declined to comment on it.
In December 2022, authorities released more than 28,000 immigrants who violated immigration laws without being convicted of a crime.
Under the Biden administration’s open border policies, illegal criminal immigrants have been flooding into the United States without consequence. Thousands of these individuals are violent offenders or have serious mental health problems. When pressed for an exact number of how many individuals have crossed the border illegally, DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas weasels his way out and simply replies that he will get back to us with a more precise number- though it is unclear if he ever will. Given this serious breach of authority by Mayorkas, it has become increasingly important for House Republicans to show their new congressional majority in action by drafting articles of impeachment against him, as he currently holds all the records for border crossings and all for the wrong reasons.
