‘Controversial Reveal’: Dig Into What Americans Think Of Their Own Gov’t

Americans just seem to be getting more and more angry at their government, and the recent Gallup poll is proof.

This frustration is perhaps because democrats have repeatedly failed to deliver on the promises they made to voters in the 2020 election. Biden’s hawkish policies have further inflated prices, causing further pain for those already suffering from a bad economy.

The Epoch Times reports, A recent Gallup poll found that Americans rank government as their number one problem, beating inflation.

Charles Steele a professor of economics at Hillsdale College made a statement on the poll saying “This result is not surprising, If we look at the next four most cited problems—inflation, immigration, economy, and divisiveness—people know that politicians and bureaucrats have been making those problems worse, not better. Inflation is a good example. It is entirely created by government spending and by expansionary monetary policy from the Federal Reserve.”

Gallup’s survey follows a Pew Research poll from June 2022 that stated: “Americans remain deeply distrustful of and dissatisfied with their government.”. Just 20% say they trust the government in Washington to do the right thing.

While most Americans gave the government high marks for responding to natural disasters and fighting terrorism, only 37 percent approved of its economic performance. The government’s economic performance was approved by 54 percent of Americans before President Joe Biden took office.

With government being Americans’ number one problem according to the Gallup Poll, it certainly makes one question if this is how our Founding Fathers wanted government to be run. If government has become too large, then perhaps it’s time for us to take a step back and reassess. After all, what our founders sought was government of the people, by the people and for the people – not government of challenges, failing systems and growing inflation that currently sees its citizens placing it at the top of their list of problems today. It appears as though we have some work to do in order to keep government in line with what our Founding Fathers envisioned.
