It’s about time that both Democrats and Republicans, who aren’t on China’s payroll, finally came together to voice their strong opposition to the Communist led nation. While some legislation may be viewed as partisan, it is important that more bipartisan movements arise if we are going to make a difference in the future of our country. With tensions growing between China and the United States, it is more important than ever before that bipartisanship be practiced to put a stop to any national security threat.
Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) has recently voiced his opinion on the popular media application, TikTok. While he recognizes the entertainment value it brings to many, he believes that potential national security issues should take precedence. He has urged Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO to remove TikTok from the companies’ app store in order to protect the integrity of national information. This is an opinion that has generated controversy both in Colorado and beyond. What remains uncertain is why Senator Bennet made his remarks completely alone. Doesn’t the cult of the democrat party forbid personal ideas?
Daily wire reports, according to Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO), Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai should remove TikTok from the app stores.
CNBC reported on the matter with Tiktok’s response.
Republican and Democratic officials have expressed opposition to ByteDance’s presence in the United States in the past. Bennett warned technology executives that Chinese law requires it to “support, assist, and cooperate with state intelligence work.”
Bennet also referred to a Forbes article that stated ByteDance was going to track American citizens by their locations. ByteDance started an internal audit and risk department, which initially was supposed to investigate misconduct among current and former employees. However, the team allegedly planned to collect data about at least one American who never worked there.
The letter comes shortly after President Biden signed legislation banning TikTok on all federal devices. A number of states, including Nebraska, Alabama, Iowa, and North Dakota, had previously banned the use of the platform by government entities.
The TikTok CEO is scheduled to testify next month before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The United States has long been the preeminent global superpower and the only power capable of standing up to the oppressive Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Though other nations may seek to continue exercising their economic and political influence, it is clear that America stands as the premier nation, uniquely positioned to respond to the advances of Chinese imperialism. This can be seen in the current situation surrounding TikTok’s plea to permanently remain in our economic market, where it is scrambling to appease conditions laid out by U.S. regulators. This demonstrates just how powerful America remains in the international landscape and how China is unwilling or unable to challenge us; if both American political parties can unite as Americans and stand together against CCP ambitions, there really isn’t anything they could do to counter us.
