As noted by the Post Millennial, the package’s significant funding for climate change is quite interesting, given that the legislation is called the “inflation Reduction Act.” This 755-page, $739 billion spending bill passed the Senate in August by a party line vote with VP Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote.

Although Joe Biden said he would not raise taxes on people making less than $400,000, the massive spending package raises taxes for everyone except those making between $10,000 and $30,000. The Inflation Reduction Act will also increase the IRS’s size significantly and create nearly 87,000 new positions within the agency.

Some Republican Representatives have actually filed a bill to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act.

Tennessee Congressman Andy Ogles introduced his first bill in the 118th Congress called the Inflation Reduction Act of 2023 which would repeal the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

During his State of the Union address, Biden called out the Tennessee Congressman’s recently-introduced bill.

Following Biden’s comment, Ogles tweeted, “You know you’re doing something right for Americans when @POTUS targets you in his SOTU.”

Despite being sold as the “Inflation Reduction Act,” the pork-filled package has nothing to do with helping Americans. The 755-page bill passed by the Senate will raise taxes, fund climate change projects, and drastically increase the IRS’ size. It’s sickening to see millions of American taxpayer dollars going straight into a piece of legislation that was never needed and was hardly explained prior to its passing.
