Whoopi Goldberg ignited a firestorm after her gaffe during Tuesday’s episode of “The View” when she confused the black Senator Tim Scott with his white colleague Senator Rick Scott.

This incident sparked conversations about race and politics and made conservative viewers aware once again of the liberal media’s lies and hate speech spewed during morning talk shows, as well as their apparent inability to discern simple facts about the people they are attacking.

Daily wire reports, Tim Scott (R-SC) took aim at Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday after she joked that she couldn’t tell him apart from Senator Rick Scott (R-FL).

According to Goldberg, she couldn’t really distinguish between Tim Scott, who is black, and Rick Scott, who is white, because they are both Republicans.

Following that clip going viral Tim Scott tweeted “To clear up any confusion, Whoopi, despite @ScottForFlorida and I sporting similar hairstyles and representing the South, we are two different people. You should get to know me.”

In response to Scott’s assessment, the Florida Senator shared a photo of the two of them together, adding, “Can confirm.”

If you thought that the View was above race baiting, oh boy were you wrong.

Daily wire writes, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) blasted “The View” host Sunny Hostin for saying she was an ethnic chameleon on Tuesday’s show.

Haley, who was US ambassador to the UN under former President Donald Trump, was accused by Hostin of dumping her more ethnic-sounding given name – Nimarata – to “pass” in Republican politics.

After that segment aired Nikki Haley took shots at Sunn Hostin over her racist comments.

Haley stated on twitter “Thanks for your concern @Sunny. It’s racist of you to judge my name. Nikki is an Indian name and is on my birth certificate—and I’m proud of that. What’s sad is the left’s hypocrisy towards conservative minorities. By the way, last I checked Sunny isn’t your birth name…”

Hostin immediately reacted to defend herself. According to her, she changed her name only because most Americans were too stupid or poorly educated to pronounce it correctly.

As the media lies about Republican views, it becomes even more important to speak out against those who feel entitled to spew hate without the facts. That Whoopi felt compelled to take such a cheap shot against an African-American politician who was simply trying to provide information is unconscionable. There ought to be an apology owed – both for Whoopi’s mistake, and the liberal garbage that’s been spreading through mainstream media. We can only hope this incident has reminded people who have lost their way that racism and bigotry have no place in our society.
