On Thursday, a heckler was laughed off the stage after shouting that China was not the true enemy of the United States during a speech at The Heritage Foundation by Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO).

According to Hawley, communist China poses the greatest threat to American national security, and the nation’s top foreign policy priority should be “deterring China from seizing Taiwan.” And he argued that stopping the blind transfer of assets to Ukraine would be the best way to accomplish this.

During the Missouri senator’s remarks, a woman walked on stage next to him. When she unfolded a poster that read, “People & Planet, not War & Aggression,” she began shouting over him, arguing that China was not as dangerous as climate change.

The protester insisted, “China is not our enemy. The climate crisis is! We need to be this serious about the climate crisis!”

In the process of removing her from the room, the audience laughed as she shouted over her shoulder about military spending and how she believed the money should be used to address climate change instead.

Hawley piggy-backed off the protester’s complaints to double down on his position and attack the Biden administration.

He quipped, “This administration wants to use the climate crisis as a justification for its agenda in Ukraine and elsewhere. Maybe they oughta visit with that gal.”

Despite openly opposing our country and taking hostile actions towards us, this young woman doesn’t think China is a threat to us. Her concern seems to be that the weather may get a little hotter over the next 50+ years. Her priorities seem badly out of whack.

Little could have the climate clown predicted that the audience at the event would respond in a way to her protest that showed her just how delusional and privileged her beliefs are. In a room full of conservative voices and rational speakers, her shouts were quickly drowned out by expressions of collective laughter. Those people know that if American priorities remain so wrongly focused on an issue like climate change instead of global security, China could easily make their move against us and we’d be toast. Hopefully, this was an eye-opening moment for the protester that will surely be burned in her memory for quite some time.
