Senator Ted Budd’s recent bill has given new hope to citizens desperate for an improved border situation. With an unGodly number of migrants having crossed our border this year alone, it has become apparent that the current crisis is far beyond what can be managed without reform. This legislation offers prospects of a resolution.
Sen. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) is making headway with a new piece of legislation to ensure the completion of the President’s promise to build a wall along the US-Mexico border. By removing all obstacles in its way, this bill would allocate $2.1 billion which is already available but unspent federal funds to get this construction completed as soon as possible. The public had previously widely supported this effort and there could be even more support now considering the crisis at hand.
The patriot Journal reports, congress and American citizens remain concerned about the border crisis, which shows no signs of improvement.
According to border authorities, 1.2 million illegal migrants got away while crossing the border illegally just last month.
Fox News America’s Newsroom’ host Bill Hemmer speaks to Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot and Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines about the impact of cartel activity and surging border crossings.
TAKE A LOOK
A new bill introduced by Sen. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) would remove all the obstacles to the construction of a border wall.
For the wall to be completed, the government would have to spend $2.1 billion, and most importantly, all that money has not yet been spent.
It was originally earmarked for border security, but the Biden administration refused to spend it that way and set up roadblocks.
If it passes, it means border wall construction would have to restart in under 24 hours, and Homeland Security can’t cancel any contracts related to the wall.
On top of that, the government must uphold “all negotiated border wall agreements.”
It is evident that Americans will be very concerned with the cost attached to any bill aiming to secure our border especially during this time of heavy inflation. Despite this, it is also essential that such an investment would be worthwhile – ensuring safety and stability across the nation. Not only will this work address our current issues, but it is hoped that American citizens will also benefit from new employment opportunities – something far greater than Joe has been able to accomplish thus far.
