As a top influential Republican in Congress, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell would be a critical figure in deciding who will receive the GOP nomination for president if he was respected. His choice would carry major weight and could make or break a campaign’s chances of success if he wasn’t such a weak rhino. However, he has revealed who he will support in 2024.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell shared some timely remarks following former South Carolina governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s official announcement of her candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. McConnell took an introspective approach, indicating his willingness to support the eventual GOP nominee come that particular time. Stressing commitment to the party, not to any particular candidate yet.

Conservative brief reports, after former South Carolina governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley formally announced her candidacy for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell addressed reporters.

The announcement of Haley makes her the second Republican candidate vying for the party’s nomination. Donald Trump announced his candidacy in mid-November from his Florida resort home, Mar-a-Lago.

McConnell and Trump have basically feuded since the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, for which McConnell blamed Trump.

As for Haley, she initially pledged later that year that she wouldn’t run for president if Trump declared, but she has clearly changed her mind.

McConnell took a lot of heat following a less-than-expected showing during the November midterms. Republicans barely managed to retake the House and even lost a Senate seat, handing full control to Democrats.

Following Trump’s announcement, McConnell essentially declared that his political career was over. He believes it’s “highly unlikely” that the 45th president will become the 47th president.

Senator McConnell is not popular among conservative constituents. Supporters of the party are called to action to demand term limits, as McConnell and Feinstein remain part of the political scene despite growing fatigue from their long-lasting tenures. It will be a major victory for conservatives when ultimately, he retires, finally the party would rid itself of one of the biggest problems.
