Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that China giving lethal support to Russia for the Ukraine war would be “dumber than dirt” after Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned China may be aiding Russia with “lethal support” in its military operation against Ukraine.
During the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Blinken met with Wang Yi, China’s top diplomat, and expressed concern about China providing lethal aid to Russian forces. On CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” he said U.S. officials have uncovered information that China is considering supplying weapons.
According to him, this includes both ammunition and weaponry, as well as the non-lethal assistance the nation has already offered to Russia since the war began.
As of yet, Xi has not condemned the war in Ukraine and has remained neutral, a position Putin has praised. By denouncing the U.S.’ opposition to a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan, the two leaders affirmed their alliance in September.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) simply expressed shock over Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s assessment that China may be providing Russia with “lethal support” in their military operation against Ukraine and thus sparking the fire for World War 3. Graham slammed these allegations as “dumber than dirt.” We must hope that the Chinese government knows better than to get involved in something like this and recognize how damaging it could be for the world and themselves should they actively collaborate with Russia.
