Rep. Clay Higgins Vows To Arrest Mayorkas Over Border Crisis

Rep. Clay Higgins is calling for the arrest of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, claiming he has failed in his duty to protect Americans from the ongoing border crisis.

Higgins, a Republican from Louisiana, says Mayorkas is “a clear and present danger to the American people” and vows to use every tool at his disposal to hold him accountable.

Townhall reports, if given the chance, a Republican lawmaker said he would detain Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

According to Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), a former law enforcement officer, Mayorkas committed a number of crimes because the southern border is open, which results in American deaths. In the United States, fentanyl trafficking is causing tens of thousands of overdose deaths each year.

When asked about Higgin’s comments the Department of Homeland Security responded with this statement “Despite inheriting a dismantled immigration system and facing unprecedented migration that is affecting nations throughout the Western Hemisphere, this Administration has surged resources to the border, reduced the number of encounters between ports of entry, disrupted more smuggling operations than ever before, and interdicted more drugs in the last two years than had been stopped in the five years prior, Instead of pointing fingers and trying to score political points, Congress should work on legislative solutions for our broken immigration system, which it has not updated in over 40 years,”

While the border crisis is getting worse by the day Democrats refuse to acknowledge the human toll their ineptitude is causing.

Townhall reports. On Tuesday, Rebecca Kiessling, from Rochester Hills, Michigan, testified before the House Homeland Security Committee about how the ongoing fentanyl crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border impacts Americans living far from the border.

In 2020, Kiessling lost two sons to fentanyl poisoning when they thought they were taking percocets. According to Kiessling, people were freaked out over a Chinese spy balloon that killed no one, but this level of concern hasn’t been present for the fentanyl crisis as the southern border has spiraled out of control.

Along the southern border, fentanyl is smuggled through the ports of entry and in between the ports of entry. Increasing demand for stronger drugs in the United States has led cartels to switch to smuggling fentanyl. In addition, unlike marijuana, it does not have a limited growing season.

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) is justifiably outraged at Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ failure to protect Americans from the felonious disregard for law at the U.S.-Mexico border. An oathbreaker, Mayorkas has failed in his duty by allowing an influx of dangerous drugs like fentanyl that are responsible for tens of thousands of inhalant deaths annually. To make matters worse, people get more upset about a Chinese spy balloon that caused no fatalities than they do about an opioid crisis that has led to devastating overdoses and deaths among American citizens. It’s high time we send in troops to put an end to this failure of a border policy and protect our citizens from more preventable deaths.
